Built-in encoder

The built-in encoder is fully integrated into the motor
Many applications require just simple speed and position detection. Previously, elaborate and cost-intensive external encoders were mounted to the motor or initiators were used for complex sensing to fulfill these requirements. The new and cost-optimized solution from SEW-EURODRIVE is a built-in encoder. The encoder is fully integrated into the motor and connected in or at the motor terminal box. Due to its low degree of complexity, the built-in encoder can be retrofitted.

There will be three different designs: Encoders with HTL signals in A + B tracks + negated Sin/Cos signals in A + B tracks + negated signals of the rotation counter as absolute value

Instead of an external encoder mounted to the fan guard of the non-drive end, the encoder is now installed between the endshield and the fan. The mounted encoders are and will remain part of the additional features and were also developed further. Separable according to function and connection, only one mechanical design.
