		Target applications for MOVIAXIS® are distinguished through technical features and machine types with different characteristics. MOVIAXIS® is particularly useful in the following cases.

Characteristics of machine and system types

• Machines with a separate PLC for motion control tasks. The performance of these
  tasks is to be improved
• Machines for which positioning tasks are to be solved simply in connection with a PLC
• Machines that require motion control functions (cam, virtual encoder, etc,) without
  extra programming in the axis inverter
• Machines that require optimum motion control functions in connection with an
  IEC controller (MOVI-PLC^® basic / advanced)
• Machines in which motion control functions with or without a controller are to be
  hidden in the axis system to simplify or prevent end customer demands for
  corresponding PLC systems
• Machines in which costly machine PLCs can be replaced by slim-fit motion controls
  from SEW-EURODRIVE in a cost-effective manner
• Machines for which modular machine sections are required or desired
• Machines that now have to be expanded from asynchronous or bevel shaft technology
  to servo/motion control technology

• Axis currents from 2 to 133 A required in a modular system
• Number of axes in a machine > 2
• Very high cycle times
• Low space requirement - 300 mm control cabinet / book format
• Very high axis overload values required up to 250 %
• Optimum, dynamic control properties required
• Energy exchange between axes required
• Heat build-up in the control cabinet should be reduced
• Optimize wiring (one power supply connection, filter and braking resistor)
• Integratable IEC 61131 controls required
• Complete electronic cam, electronic gear unit, etc. without motion controller and programming
• Multi-motor operation (max. 3 motors, for example for 1 main axis and 2 adjusting axes)
• Simple changeover between operating modes (torque, speed, position) desired
