Motion Control with integrated control technology
MOVI-PLC® is a powerful motion controller with integrated control functionality. Programming in IEC61131-3 combines
drive and PLC functions. Simple and efficient communication to all inverter series of SEW-EURODRIVE and the two power
classes of MOVI-PLC® allow for high-performance solutions for complex motion control tasks involving up to 64 axes.
The wide range of peripheral components, such as the modular MOVI-PLC® I/O system and the DOP operator panels, enables
complete machine automation from one source.

Engineering made easy
Integration of MOVI-PLC® into free-of-charge MOVITOOLS® MotionStudio makes for universal programming and parameter setting for all units via one interface (either Ethernet, CAN, RS-485 or Profibus). The programming environment supports all languages of IEC61131-3 (LD, FBD, IL, ST, CFC, SFC) and simplifies diagnostics and programming via online change, animation of the program sequence, autodeclaration and cross reference lists. Wizards offer support for configuration and program generation.
Different entry levels for programmers ensure maximum flexibility through motion and technology function blocks. They also allow for quick and easy realization of different applications due to various ready-to-use solutions. If used strictly as a motion controller below a standard PLC, parameterizable application modules can be used via Windows so that no IEC61131-3 programming experience is necessary.
  
An SD card contains the entire project including firmware and ensures straightforward unit replacement in case of failure. Additionally, the user has about 100 MB available for recipe management, documentation, etc.
The integrated Ethernet interface enables simple connection to higher-level system controllers and management systems via OPC server and UDP/TCP protocols. For operation as motion controller below a conventional PLC, the standard fieldbuses PROFIBUS/PROFINET and DeviceNet/Ethernet IP are available.

Comprehensive technology functions such as electronic gear unit, electronic cam, virtual master axis and cam controller are available both centrally calculated or decentralized in the inverters. This allows for cost-effective, high-performance implementation of demanding applications, such as packaging machines or flying processing.

Path interpolation
Transfer units and palletizers often use path interpolation. Our Handling basic and
AxisControl kinematics packages were developed specifically for these applications.

They include a user-friendly Windows interface for startup and diagnostics and offer functions such as
teach-in, automatic overlap, true-to-path override and coordinate transformation for standard and customer
kinematics up to 4 axes.
