MOVI-PLC® is the new controller series from SEW-EURODRIVE that combines PLC and drive functions.
PLC functions can be programmed in a standard programming environment using any language compliant with IEC 61131-3. Calling
up simple function modules can trigger not only controller functions but also drive functions, such as positioning, referencing,
or the reading and writing of parameters.
MOVI-PLC® supports all SEW-EURODRIVE inverters with the matching function modules, which are available in separate libraries. Libraries
with function modules for technology functions, such as electronic cam, synchronous operation and virtual master axis, are
also available.
MOVI-PLC® is scalable
because it is available in two power classes.
MOVI-PLC® basic can be used in the medium power range to control up to 12 axes via the CAN based system bus. Engineering usually takes
place via RS-485 or also via CAN or PROFIBUS.
MOVI-PLC® advanced additionally offers an Ethernet based drive bus for the top power range. Engineering takes place via Ethernet or
USB and an SD memory card.
MOVI-PLC® is universal
because it can be installed as control card in MOVIDRIVE® drive inverters and MOVITRAC® B frequency inverters. It can also be used in the master module of the modular MOVIAXIS® multi-axis servo drives and in the MOVIFIT® decentralized system. MOVI-PLC® is the ideal solution for any drive-based control application. MOVI-PLC® basic control is also available as compact controller for mounting on a DIN rail.
MOVI-PLC® is powerful
because it offers a wide range of freely programmable drive functions using PLC programming language with the advantages of
graphical programming languages, animated program sequences and online changes. This allows for efficiently programming complex
sequences of motion and coordinating several axes. In addition, MOVI-PLC® provides an exclusive engineering access for programming the controller and setting the associated parameters.
