SEW-Eurodrive has slashed MC Compact gear unit turnaround times, with the recent establishment of an MC Compact assembly facility at its Australian headquarters in Melbourne. The new assembly facility is equipped with a comprehensive range of stock and spare parts, providing Australian manufacturers with rapid delivery times, and increased access to industrial gear unit components.
According to SEW-Eurodrive national product manager industrial gear units, Ian Tribe, the new Australian assembly facility provides local manufacturers with straightforward access to the company’s MC Compact series of industrial gear units. “Unlike gear units manufactured overseas, the Australian-assembled MC Compact series of industrial gear units can be supplied in just a few weeks, allowing manufacturers to streamline their own project timelines,” said Tribe.
Ideal for industrial conveying, pumping, mixing and hoisting applications, the entire MC Compact series boasts a modular design and is assembled from a range of standard components. “The modularity of the MC Compact series allows shortened delivery times, as units are assembled from stock parts,” said Tribe. “This allows users with multiple MC Compact gear units with component commonality to minimise spare parts inventory.”
The Australian-assembled MC Compact series offers premium power density and is ideal for manufacturing facilities with space limitations. Available in parallel-shaft or right-angle configuration, the MC Compact series has been designed to provide high torques, while maintaining a streamlined construction. “The compact design of the MC Compact series, coupled with a diversified program of mounting options, provides manufacturers with unprecedented installation efficiency and flexibility,” said Tribe. “Optional swing bases, motor mounting platforms, adapters, and backstop or torque arms allow manufacturers considerable freedom in system design.”
The SEW-Eurodrive MC Compact Australian assembly facility represents a significant investment in the region and reinforces
the company’s industry-leading position. “The Australian MC Compact assembly facility is only the eighth such SEW-Eurodrive
facility in the world and underlines our commitment to the region,” said Tribe. “The semi-automated assembly equipment has
been designed not only to accommodate the current MC Compact series, but also allows the assembly of much larger models. SEW-Eurodrive
has laid the foundations to provide Australian manufacturers with locally-assembled MC Compact series as the range is expanded
in the future.” |
