At National Manufacturing Week 2009, Australia’s premier drives solutions provider, SEW-Eurodrive, will launch the W37 and
W47 right-angle gear unit ranges--the latest additions to the company’s popular 7 Series range of modular geared motor solutions.
Featuring gear ratios as low as 3.2, the new W37 and W47 right-angle gearmotor ranges provide Australian manufacturers with
high output speeds and new levels of drive-train efficiency.
The W37 and W47 ranges deliver torques from 70 to 110Nm and 100 to 180Nm respectively, making both new series ideal for a
wide range of conveying applications. Energy-efficient by design, the W37 and W47 right-angle gearmotor ranges incorporate
a two-stage gearing arrangement--the first stage comprises a helical gear arrangement, while the second stage incorporates
SEW-Eurodrive’s patented SPIROPLAN gearing configuration. The end-result is an energy-efficient right-angled gearmotor series
capable of delivering high output speeds.
Being part of SEW-Eurodrive’s modular 7 Series, the inherently energy-efficient W37 and W47 ranges provide users with numerous
gearbox/motor combinations customisable to suit many manufacturing applications. Like all members of the 7 Series family,
the W37 and W47 ranges are easily integrated with SEW-Eurodrive’s direct-mounted asynchronous ‘DR’ motors and synchronous
servo ‘CMP’ motor series, and are available with various mounting arrangements and shaft sizes.
The new W37 and W47 series’ ‘hollow shaft mount’ housing features a compact, self-draining aseptic design free from crevices
and contaminant trap-points, making them ideal for hygienic clean area manufacturing applications. Furthermore, the new W37
and W47 right-angle gearmotor ranges are easily incorporated into SEW-Eurodrive’s MOVIMOT decentralised drive system, which
provides the flexibility, scalability and powerful connectivity required to support the manufacturing sector.
