Big, heavy machinery seems to be the current buzz item in the manufacturing industry...and that's not just because of Australia's fascination with minerals, ore and mining. The recent Transformers movie had all sorts of vehicles and machinery thundering around the desert, causing havoc for us lowly earthlings.

Now, with a tip of the hat to Transformers, SEW-EURODRIVE have produced a short film based around our own heavy machinery - our heavy industrial gear units. Highlighting the new state of the art manufacturing plant at our head office in Germany, the clip highlights the range of applications and flexibility capable of our industrial gears.

The film is used to position the industrial gear units from SEW-EURODRIVE and impresses by its incredible dynamism and expressiveness. Cubical elements transform themselves into machines and systems, in the way of the known "Transformer" toys, to include industrial gear units such as huge cranes or bulldozers.

This film is the culmination of several years of cooperation with "3D Madness", a full service agency for information design with a strong emphasis on 3D work. All this work has now been recognized with the iF communication design award in the category for digital media/animation.
