SEW-EURODRIVE at National Manufacturing Week 2010

News

At National Manufacturing Week 2010, SEW-Eurodrive will demonstrate its comprehensive range, comprising gearmotors, industrial gear units, drive electronics, as well as service and support, and training to the manufacturing industry. The company will exhibit elements from its expansive and innovative electronic, electro-mechanical and mechanical solutions set, which make up the complete end-to-end drive solution.

At this year’s exhibition, SEW-Eurodrive will launch the latest extension to its CMP family of servo motors. Now offering torque rating of 0.5 to 45Nm, the extended CMP series is presented in six distinct frame sizes with speed ratings of 3000, 4500 and 6000rpm.The new CMP models complement the existing CM and CMP servo series, and offer premium dynamics and accuracy in a light-weight, compact form-factor, providing higher torque density than competing servo units. Each model has the choice of two rotor inertias, and this allows for optimal matching of the servo to the manufacturing application from a single series of servo motors.

SEW-Eurodrive’s newest decentralised drive solution, the MOVIPRO SDC standard drive controller, will also be unveiled at the show. Founded on SEW-Eurodrive’s proven MOVIDRIVE inverter technology, the MOVIPRO SDC features a compact IP54-rated enclosure and provides industry with an easy-to-use field-mountable drive solution-ideal for decentralised single-axis speed control and positioning applications.
The new MOVIPRO SDC is offered in two sizes-4 to 7.5kW and 11 to 15kW-accommodating standard variable speed drive, as well as sophisticated positioning and synchronous applications, such as those associated with hi-tech conveyors, stackers and cranes.

NMW 2010 will also provide the platform for SEW-Eurodrive to showcase its new KES37 and RES37 stainless steel gear units. Based on the proven design of the existing 7-Series gear unit range, these two new additions feature casings and shafts made from stainless steel, with an inherently suitable enclosure for washdown applications. The KES37 and RES37 models are ideally suited for aseptic applications where caustic/high-pressure wash-downs are required, or where there is potential for product contamination. Both the right-angle helical bevel KES37 and the in-line helical RES37 are rated up to 3kW and 200Nm.

SEW-Eurodrive will also showcase its Australian-assembled X-Series industrial gear-unit range. Suitable for motor powers up to 700kW, the first release of the locally assembled X-Series comprises four distinct sizes, with torque ratings ranging from 58 to 90kNm. The X-Series features helical and helical-bevel gear technologies, and is offered in a range of mounting arrangements, configuration options and user-specific requirements, providing Australian industry with unrivalled gear-unit access, choice and flexibility.
