20 years ago, SEW partnered with the Schizophrenia Fellowship of Victoria (who then became the Mental Illness Fellowship and today is known as Wellways) to help this worthy charity, find their feet.
Since then, close to 2 million dollars has been collectively raised for the SFV, MIF and Wellways, through countless events, donations and sponsorships. Invaluable awareness has been raised within the SEW community as well as the local community, helping to break down the barriers associated with mental health. Along the way, many valuable memories have been created shaping the history of both SEW and Wellways.
After 20 years of a successful partnership full of achievements, SEW has decided that it is time to refocus our direction to another charitable and worthy cause.
A new organisational era has emerged for Wellways, encompassing directions in mental health, disability and community care. We wish them the best of luck into the future and congratulate them on how far they have come. SEW believes that Wellways is now an organisation that no longer needs our help at grass root levels.
It is time to refocus on another worthy cause close to our hearts. Therefore SEW is happy to announce our new charity partner will be AMAZE, previously known as Autism Victoria. AMAZE is the peak body for people on the autism spectrum and their supporters in Victoria.
AMAZE raises awareness and influences positive change for people on the autism spectrum along with their families and supporters. AMAZE aims to provide independent, credible information and resources to individuals, families, professionals, government and the wider community.
We look forward to working with AMAZE and to the future of our charity events.
Stay tuned for more details on charity events coming up. Our Golf day & Gala dinner dance will be held in 2019.
